Multidirectional mood of quotations movement at Ukrainian interbank foreign exchange market. Foreign exchange market review. 9 October 2007

At Ukrainian interbank foreign exchange market at today session the movement of quotations had a multidirectional mood.

Opening of the session was fixed at the level 5,01/5,05, but by the beginning of active bids market participants showed their interest in the range 5,025/5,040 per $1, but sale rate decrease was observed today including the level 5,03. Then increase of demand for American currency was noted and as a result its quotations against hryvna increased by the level 5,035/5,040, and then by 5,04/5,05. For a short period of time sale rate left the indicated range and grew up by 5,052/5,055. But by completion of the session the situation became a little bit more stable and quotations made up 5,035/5,050.

Major part of today bargains was concluded in the range 5,033/5,038, while 5,045/5,055 at Friday bids.

NBU did not participate in the bids

At DEPO-market the situation today became a little bit more stable.

The cost of hryvna "overnight" increased at today bids by 0,25/1,00%, from 0,2/0,75% a day before. Average weighted cost of "overnight" by 17:00 КТ made up 0,7%, while 0,6% according to the results of previous day. Concluded bargains bulk by this time made up UAH 581 mln. while 997 mln. according to Monday results.

The cost of "weekly" resources today also increased and made up 1,0/1,8%, against 0,60/1,50% a day before. Average cost on the concluded bargains makes up about 1,4%, that is higher than yesterday meaning on 0,3%. Bids bulk made up UAH 130 mln. while 212 mln. on Monday.

The cost on credits for the term "from 22 up to 31 day" appeared to be also slightly changeable and it fluctuated today in the range 2,0/4,4%, while 3,0/4,0% a day before.

Today is noted with a flash of the cost for "overnight" credits in US dollars and euro. American currency became more expensive today by 6,0/7,5%, from 5,6/6,5 on previous session; euro cost for this very term increased by 4,25/5,00%, from 4,00/4,75 on Monday.
