Multidirectional character of bids at Ukrainian interbank market. Foreign exchange market review. 11 October 2007

At Ukrainian interbank foreign exchange market the character of bids has a multidirectional character. The formed offer of currency at the end of session on Wednesday was transferred to today bids and as a result the today session started from the mark 5,015/5,040. But the quotations kept beside the indicated indexes for a short time and moved to 5,020/5,035 with the beginning of active bids. The preserved moderate offer of currency for sale provoked a fall down of quotations by 5,010/5,018. Some participants activated their purchase when this mark was reached and as a result the rate grew up by 5,028/5,040.

Major part of today bargains was concluded in the range 5,025/5,035, in comparison with 5,04/5,05 at bids on Wednesday.

NBU did not participate in bids.

At DEPO-market the rates for "overnight" credits in national currency "subsided" a little bit, but at the same time rates increase for more long terms was noted.

Fluctuation of hryvna "overnight" prices was noted today in the range 0,25/1,00%. Average weighted "overnight" rate by 17:00 КТ made up 0,6%, that is lower in comparison with yesterday on 0,1%. Concluded bargains bulk decreased more than 2 times, by UAH 708 mln. from 1,616 bln. on Wednesday.

Fluctuation of "weekly" resources cost was noted in the range 1,20/3,50, while 1,0/2,0% a day before. Average cost on the performed bargains makes up about 2,6%, that is higher than yesterday figure on 0,8%. Bids volume made up UAH 130 mln, while 64 mln. on Wednesday.

Price of credits for the term "from 22 up to 31 day" fluctuated today in the range 5,0/7,0, while  5,0/6,0% a day before.
