Foreign currency market review. 13 November 2007

At Ukrainian interbank foreign currency market bid take place in a calm situation after long week-end due to celebration of  Veteran's Day in the USA on Monday and they pass in the same course as on the last business day before holiday.

Today bid opening was noted at the level 5,027/5,033 per $1, later the rate decreased by the level 5,025/5,029. Soon one could note quotations return to the level 5,030/5,038. By the session end US dollar rate against hryvnia «stood still» at the mark 5,025/5,030, having preliminary reached minimal for today mark at the level 5,022/5,026.

Major part of bargains was concluded by banks at the rate close to 5,03/$1, while 5,028/5,033 at bid on Friday. NBU did not participate in bid.

At DEPO-market the situation remains a little strained and the cost of loans in hryvnia is still by yesterday maximum.

The rates on «overnignt» credits fluctuate today, as a day before, in the range 0,50/1,75%.  Main share of bargains was concluded today in the range 1,00/1,25%. Average weighted «overnight» by 17:00 КТ made up 1,4%, having increased on 0,2% in comparison with Monday. Concluded bargains volume made up UAH 1,27 bln., while 1,78 bln. according to bid results on Monday.

Credits for the terms «from 2 up to 7 days» are quoted today by banks in the range 1,75/2,5%, while more wide 1,5/3,0% on previous day. Average price on concluded bargains on results of the day makes up 2,0%, while 2,3% at bid on Monday. Registered bargains volume decreased by 230 mln., from 283 mln. according to the results on Monday.

Price on credits for the term «from 22 up to 31 day» fluctuated today in the range 4,0/6,0%, while 4,6/6,5%, being valid at bid on Monday.
