Ukrainian interbank foreign exchange market is characterized by volatility. Foreign exchange market review. 19 November, 2007

Today bids at Ukrainian interbank foreign exchange market are characterized by big volatility, and rate of hryvnia to US dollar during a day was fluctuated at the range 5,005/5,040 per $1.

At the beginning of bids when US dollar offer was insignificant, quotations were the highest and reached 5,032/5,040 per $1, but soon situation was changed very soon and correlation of US dollar to hryvnia decreased by 5,005/5,010 per $1. However, by the end of bids buyers became more active that resulted to quotations increase by 5,005/5,025 per $1, at 5,022/5,03 on bids on Friday.

Majority of bargains was concluded today by banks within 5,02/5,03, at 5,012/5,016 per $1 on bids on Friday. National Bank did not participate in bids.

At  DEPO-market the situation is aggravated and credit cost in national currency goes on growing.

Rate on «overnight» credits fluctuate today in the range 1,25/3,00%, while 1,00/2,5% a day before. Major share of bargains today was concluded in the range 1,50/2,0%, against 1,25/1,75% on previous day. Average weighted rate «overnight» by 17:00 КТ made up 1,8%, while 1,6% according to bid results on Friday. Concluded bargains volume made up UAH 2,2 bln., while 3,076 bln. according to Friday bid results.

Credits for the term «form 2 up to 7 days» increased in price by 2,5/4,8%, from 2,0/3,2% on previous day, and average price on concluded bargains increased by 3,0%, from 2,4% according to bid results on previous day. Registered bargains volume decreased almost two times — 243 mln. from 467 mln. on Friday.

Price on credits for the term «from 22 up to 31 day» fluctuated today in the range 5,8/8,0, while 5,0/8,0% on previous session.
