Sharp price increase of gold futures ase of gold futures
As of May 19, situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations decrease. Today during morning trade session in Asia gold was traded at the level $905,00 — $910,00 per ounce. While opening New York Mercantile Exchange gold at the bids was at the level $907,00, then slightly increased. May 16, at New York Mercantile Exchange closure was fixed on $901,60 per ounce.
Purchases on behalf of funds caused sharp prices increase of gold futures in New York (against background of oil prices increase) to new record maximum levels and US dollar decrease. Quotations of gold futures in accordance with results of bids at СОМЕХ increased $19,90 — up to $899,90 per troy ounce. Silver futures became more expensive on 27,5 cents — up to $16,96 per ounce.
May 20, gold price is expected within $900,00-$915,00 per ounce.
London morning fixing on May 19, constituted $908,75 per ounce, when rate of the National Bank of Ukraine was set on $885,00 per ounce.
