As of June 31, situation at precious metals market was characterized by insignificant quotation decrease by midday. Today at morning trade session in Asia, gold was traded at $908, 50-$915, 50 per ounce. Gold trade on New York Mercantile Exchange was opened at $910, 10, afterwards it increased somewhat its position. On July 29, New York Mercantile Exchange closure was fixed at $916, 00 per ounce.

As of July 30, situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations, fluctuation range was about $20 per ounce. Gold prices dropped as a result of oil price decrease, shares and US dollar strengthened. Today at morning trade session in Asia, gold was traded at $900,50 — $919,50 per ounce. As of July 23, situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations decrease during the first half of the day. Today at morning trade session in Asia, gold was traded at $938,5-$948,5 per ounce. Gold trade on New York Mercantile Exchange was opened at $938,00, afterwards it increased somewhat its position. New York Mercantile Exchange closure was fixed at $934,75 per ounce. London morning fixing on July 23, amounted to $961,50 per ounce, while the exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine was fixed at 973,00 per ounce. Gold prices at London bids dropped because of oil prices decrease and USD stabilization.

As of July 22, situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations increase during the first half of the day. Today at morning trade session in Asia, gold was traded at $974,5-$965,5 per ounce. Gold trade on New York Mercantile Exchange was opened at $973,00, afterwards it decreased somewhat its position. On July 21, New York Mercantile Exchange closure was fixed at $965,50 per ounce. London morning fixing on July 18 amounted to $961,50 per ounce, while the exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine was fixed at $964,00 per ounce.

Prices for gold and silver went down as a consequence of oil price decrease on July 21

As of July 21 the situation on the precious metals market was characterized by quotations rise during the first part of the day. Today during the morning trade session in Asia the gold was sold at the price $958, 00-$967, 5 per ounce. At the opening of NY Mercantile Exchange the gold was sold at the rate of $967, 00, afterwards, the price lowered insignificantly. At the closing moment, on 18 July, the NY Mercantile Exchange rates were fixed at $955, 50 for ounce.

As of July 16th, the situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations stabilization before afternoon. On Friday, July 11, quotations of futures for precious metals increased by the highest level for more than three months against background of geopolitical apprehensions and situation in financial sector, record oil prices increase, weak US dollar as well as inflationary fears.

As of July 10, situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations increase. Gold futures quotations increased on Thursday thanks to purchases against the background of oil price increase, the US dollar decrease and fears concerning mortgage market in the USA.

Futures quotations on precious metals on Wednesday, July 9 increased against background of USD decrease, stopped decrease of oil prices and strengthening of geopolitical tension after Iranian trial of ballistic rocket, and Russia expressed concerns relating treaty on allocation of AMT USA signed between Czech and the USA.

As of July 8, situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations decrease. Quotations on gold futures on Tuesday decreased against background of sharp oil prices decrease and USD increase, but gold managed to renew part of losses at the expense of closure of short positions at the end of the session.

Prices on gold and other precious metals increased

According to Friday’s results, prices on main metals kept decreasing. After ECB’s decision to increase the rate, metals began to correct their positions. This decrease is stimulated by the US dollar strengthening; the dollar began to grow up again after having reached its lows. But despite drop in metals price, we are not still bound to consider the current correction as a new phase towards decrease. In short-term plan, we are more inclined to consider metals within the framework of a large stub. Gold trade on New York Mercantile Exchange was opened at $927.20 level, afterwards it decreased somewhat its position — up to $921.00. On July 3, New York Mercantile Exchange closure was fixed at $931.00 per ounce. Today at morning trade session in Asia, gold was traded at $919.4 — $925.8 per ounce.

Quotations increase at precious metals market

As of July 3, situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations increase. Gold price in New York renewed lost positions at bids on Wednesday, and finished a day by moderate growth against background of oil becoming more expensive, caused by publication of data about energy resources reserve in the USA. While New York Mercantile Exchange opening, gold at bids was at the level $944,00, then slightly increased up to $930,00. On July 2, at New York Mercantile Exchange closure was fixed on $945,30 per ounce. Today during morning trade session in Asia gold was traded at the level $942-$946 per ounce.

As of July 2nd, 2008 situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations increase. During today’s morning trade session in Asia gold has been traded at the level of $934,00 — $938,00 per ounce. Gold trade at New York Mercantile Exchange was opened at $936,00, raising somewhat its position afterwards. On July 1st, New York Mercantile Exchange closure was fixed at $939,70 per ounce.
