Gold prices increase at precious metals market
As of July 2 nd , 2008 situation at precious metals market was characterized by quotations increase. During today's morning trade session in Asia gold has been traded at the level of $934,00 — $938,00 per ounce. Gold trade at New York Mercantile Exchange was opened at $936,00, raising somewhat its position afterwards. On July 1 st , New York Mercantile Exchange closure was fixed at $939,70 per ounce.
Price for gold and other precious metals has risen because of crude oil price increase, tensions between Israel and Iran , and recurrent drop in quotations at stock market. According to COMEX trading results gold futures increased by $16,20 up to $944,50 per Troy ounce. Quotations reached maximum at the level of $948,50, being the highest one since April 18 th . Silver futures quotations increased by $0,78 up to $18,29 per ounce. They reached maximum at the point of $18,31, being the highest level since May 27 th .
London morning fixing on July 2 nd amounted to $936,00 per ounce, while the exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine was fixed at $929,50 per ounce.
